I've been playing with a variation of this build in Arborstone...I found that with my R/N, Gaze of Contepmt removes all enchantments from foe with health above 50%...startles the boons and with a Savage Shot and needle-needle-needle....they go down faster than you might think.

Gaze of Contempt when playing necro secondary, is a great way to open the door to taking down the boons...removes all enchantments if their health is above 50% (which it usually is)...remove enchantments, interrupt them and needle-needle-needle....

Personally I think after playing a R/P that QS really is going to be inferior in terms of rapid fire high damage builds. I won't go so far as to say that the skill should be completely discredited, but I have always prefered a crippleshot + poison build.

The key is understanding that in a PvP environment, additional forms of support are usually better than just damage. This is why a Cripshot is good, because rather than just hitting 1 as fast as you can, you're also applying pressuring conditions to the other team that, in the long run, will provide a lot more benefit than 1111111111111111111111111111111111111111.
It's also important to recognize that the legitimacy of a build stems from where you're using it. In AB, Quickshot is likely to own the grand majority of people you encounter with it. Why? They have no Monk, most likely, and their self heal is probably something so poor that you can kill them with any semi-decent build.
When you get to the more advanced levels of PvP, however, as I said, the key is support, not just damage. This is why Crip, Punishing, and Oath Shot see a good deal more play.
As far as PvE, Quick Shot was far more usable before they fixed it, whereas before you could fire it several times in the time it now takes for you to fire it once.

I've run this build in HOH and RA only I switch with a vamp mod because 2 energy even for this rapid build is not that bad. Other varities was that my friend changed to a reclusive bow and then used apply posion. Ive always filled the optional slot with pin down to avoid getting raped by touchers and warriors. From what I've seen, an all around powerful build but the lack of self heal and weakness to Mesmers leads me to run other builds, yet I can see this becomming a new type of spike, with some modifications for team play ofcourse.

I can't believe nobody suggested the old trick of using QZ with quickshot, you still get uzi ranger, its like needling shot but faster, more damage, but will cost you 30% more energy.

You cannot sustain your energy level for long spamming QS with QZ applied, even with a zealous bow.

imo, i think quick shot would be nice if complemented with concussion shot before, i mean of course you can use a shortbow and keep interupting spells while they are dazed, but if you were wanting to use flatbow or longbow for height or rang while they are dazed, you could use quick shot, but i dunno, read the wind might be best

I like using Kindle Arrows... Sundering Attack, Quick Shot, Savage Shot... Sundering Attack, Quick Shot, Distracting Shot...
I prefer Sundering/Penetrating Attack over Dual Shot for the quicker recharge. Although, it can be quite an energy drain, so I tend not to repeat the chains too often.

Agreed, though a friend of mine and me have been arguing about weather an interruptor should use a Recurve or Short Bow. Recurves have the lowest Arc in the game, so they'll reach the target faster, but shortbows have quicker reload time, meaning arrows come OUT of the bow faster. I don't know which bow would be more effective for a build of the type you describe.

The Uzi Ranger is build for maximum DPS over a short time to cause some damage to targets by taking a shot every 0.7 seconds, it's a very effective combo Quickening Zephyr and Quick Shot. However I believe Quick Shot on its own is more sustainable than QZ with Quick Shot, therefore making it more effective.

I may be wrong, but I was under the impress that QS + QZ no longer worked because a skill's recharge time can no longer be reduced to less than 1 second, if it has one.

I think you are correct Effigy, there used to be a trick where recharge became 0 seconds, but it was fixed.
QS has a 1 second activation and a 1 second recharge, I don't think you can spam arrows faster with it then with a regular flat- or shortbow. It works nice though when combined with other bowattacks.

Reload times are irrelavent for interupts because they fire independant of when your next auto-attack would occur. The draw time for savage/distrcting/punishing shot is the same for all bows, and the arrow leaves the bow 0.5s after you press the key, assuming you press it when you aren't in the middle of another action.

I'm glad one of my threads actually caught on. Please feel free to continue debating about or finding new uses for the elite Quick Shot, the most underrated ranger elite there is!
